Babylon
"Those who do not learn from the past are condemned to repeat it" a famous quote by George Santayana that can be connected to many different things. In my case it can be connected to the short story that we read By the Waters of Babylon. It connects to the story because this man has the opportunity to go to the "place of the gods" or New York City which is the future. He sees all of the hatred and battles that are going on and if he does not realize what is going on and learn from it he and people in his time are bound to repeat it. It is also kind of the same as a student life in a much simpler way, but still matters. If you forget to do your homework one night or decide not to study for a test and get a bad grade and you do not learn or understand that it was a bad decision, then it is going to happen again.
